Certified Pool Operator Training
As a result of the passing of the Recreational Water Facility Regulations during the 2002 Legislative Session, all Recreational Water Facilities in West Virginia are required to have access to a Certified Swimming Pool Operator.
Approved Certified Swimming Pool Operator classes:
- The Monongalia County Health Department is now offering Certified Pool Operator (CPO) class. Classes are located at the Monongalia County Health Department, Morgantown, WV Information, registration forms, etc., are available on their website or 304-598-5139 Check with the Monongalia County Health Department for cost and seat availability.

- Aquatic Facility Operator Certification Course - National Recreation and Park Association
Certification is valid for three (3) years. - Certified Pool Operator Course - Pool and Hot Tub Alliance
Certification is valid for five (5) years. - Commercial Pool Technician - Aquatic Training Institute*
Certification is valid for five (5) years. - Hybrid Certified Pool Operator Course - Pool and Hot Tub Alliance**
Certification is valid for five (5) years. - Licensed Aquatic Facility Technician - American Swimming Pool and Spa Association
Certification is valid for five (5) years. - Practical Pool Management Plus - Aquatic Safety Research Group
Certification is valid for five (5) years. - Professional Swimming Pool Operator - Aquatic Training and Consulting Service Certification is valid for three (3) years.
* Requires the completion of a West Virginia-specific course addendum and exam
